“A trapshooting vest? Uh, try that way,” the clerk was pointing down the store aisle, towards racks of camo. We nodded, “Not what we had in mind.”
It felt unfair. A fully stocked, national sporting goods retailer who didn’t carry a single vest suited for trapshooting. No luck at our next stop, either – a regional chain store up the road. Two down and not a vest in sight! What gives? We scratched both stores off the list and pressed onward.
Next stops, Bass Pro and Gander Mountain. Both times, we scored, finding one…two…three styles of vests on display. Satisfied to find them, we still felt there should be more choices of shooting-wear at the chain store level. In the surrounding geographical region of where we were shopping, a plentiful number of sportsman’s clubs exist. Save this point for a separate discussion. Right then, we had three shooting vests in our possession.
